It’s January again – how did that happen? Well, okay, I know how it happened, but it just doesn’t seem like enough time has gone by for the Earth to have gone ALL the way around the sun again. But it has, and now is the perfect time to set yourself up for a great, productive and growing year in 2015!
One of my favorite ways to start off each year is to look at the year that has passed, and remind myself of my accomplishments and achievements. No matter how small, those accomplishments have helped to form who you are today, and who you are today is the person that is starting the journey into 2015.
It’s important to remember the not-so-accomplishments, as well. (Do we really have to call them failures? How about life-lessons or teachable moments, instead.) Those, too, have formed who you are.
And yea, sure, it’s easy to sit and think about what went well and what didn’t, both in life and in business. But there’s something “official” about writing it down, to making it real, for better or worse. It helps to guide my next journey around the sun.
To walk me through this process, I like using the Create Your Shining Year workbook from Leonie Dawson. She’s this really fun and slightly off-beat coachy person from Australia who creates fun and beautiful tools to help you grow, personally and professionally. You can get it as a printed full-color book, or a PDF ebook that you can print at home (my personal favorite – I don’t like waiting to begin using it. *smile* )
Check out Leonie’s video about the workbook:
Whether or not you choose to use Leonie’s Workbook, I highly recommend taking some time to review your last year, write down for yourself what did work, what you did accomplish, and what didn’t work, what you didn’t finish. Evaluate what’s still important, re-prioritize that big list, and jump into 2015 with energy and positivity to have a great year.
I’ve got some big things on my “big list” this year – some huge goals that have been on my dream list for too long and it’s time to turn them into reality. If you’re on my mailing list, you’ll get to hear about them first. If you’re not on my list, go sign up – and you’ll get my free report to help your website just for signing up. You can use the signup box on the sidebar of this page, or go to beyondtheoffice.com/free-report.
What’s on your BIG LIST for 2015? I’d love for you to share with me, either in a comment below or on my Facebook page. Let me know, too, if there’s something I can do to help you accomplish those dreams.
