Quest for the perfect project management app
Saturday, April 17th, 2010
It all began 2 years ago. I had been in business for about 2 years, and was getting frustrated trying to keep track of incoming requests by email. I wanted something to help me keep track of tasks, project status, recurring tasks, future tasks, and even standard sets of tasks (such as those associated with a new client or new website project.)
A quick Google search will reveal that there are many great project management apps out there. But I have a pretty solid list of requirements, and most are missing 1 or 2 critical things. So, the great project management search had begun.
My wish list includes:
- Easy to use
- Time-tracking per task, with start/stop/pause
- Attractive design
- Multi-users
- Allow clients to email new task requests
Over the next few weeks, I’m going to share with you my experiences with many different apps as I try them out and look for the one that has it all. If I review one that you have experience with, I’d love to hear your thoughts as well. And, if you’ve got one that you want me to take a look at, be sure to let me know.
